Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Indy Free Tax Prep is a network of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites that offers free tax preparation to individuals and families with a combined household income of $60,000 or less in 2023. IRS-certified volunteers provide basic income tax return preparation and free electronic filing to qualified individuals.

Since the program began in 2015, volunteers have prepared more than 44,000 tax returns for central Indiana residents who received more than $40 million in tax refunds.
