Visually Impaired Preschool Services

https://vips.org/vips-indiana/

VIPS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Central Indiana’s youngest children who are blind or have low vision, from birth to age three, along with their families. Through a range of specialized services, VIPS provides early intervention, evaluations, and tailored resources to help children develop critical skills for learning, independence, and daily life. Our compassionate Blind/Low Vision Specialists offer in-home visits for personalized instruction, childcare consultations to assist educators with adapted teaching techniques, and specialized diagnostic assessments to track developmental progress. Additionally, VIPS offers Orientation & Mobility instruction to promote safe navigation, preschool transition services to ensure school readiness, and advocacy training to empower parents and caregivers. Families also benefit from educational programs, social gatherings, training opportunities, and access to our Lending Library, which features adaptive learning tools. At the heart of our services is the VIPS Family Resource Center in Indianapolis, a thoughtfully designed space that provides an enriched learning environment and expanded programming to support children and their families on their journey toward success.
